As people's awareness of environmental protection continues to increase, and stringent emission regulations continue to be introduced, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly pure electric aerial work platforms have gradually been recognized and favored by domestic and foreign markets. Batteries are the power source and key electrical components of electric aerial work platforms, which are related to the performance and operational safety of the equipment. For this reason, the daily maintenance of the batteries is very important. Traction batteries used in electric aerial work platforms are generally based on ordinary lead-acid batteries. Its main advantages are stable voltage and high cost performance. In daily use and maintenance, do the following aspects, which can effectively extend the service life of the battery.

 

1. Routine inspections cannot be ignored

 

    The top of the battery and the terminal connection should be kept dry, clean, dust-free, and corrosion-free to avoid leakage or short-circuit failure. If the surface of the battery is dirty, use a damp cloth or brush to clean the top, terminals and connections of the battery with a mixture of baking soda and water, and dry it with a cloth to prevent the cleaning solution from entering the battery.

 

    Check whether the battery cables, terminals, and wires are damaged, check whether the junctions of the battery terminals and the connections with the wires are oxidized and corroded, and clean or replace them as soon as they are found. At the same time, check whether the battery cover is deformed or heated, and deal with it in time.

 

    It is recommended to check the battery liquid level once a week. If the electrolyte level is too low, the battery plates and separators will be damaged, which will shorten the battery life. The method of observing the electrolyte level is as follows: Open the filling cap and check the height of the liquid level. If it is lower than the bottom platform in the filling cap, it means that the liquid level is too low and you should refill it in time. If the liquid level is parallel or slightly higher than the uppermost platform in the filling cap, it is a suitable position.

 

2. Fill the battery regularly

 

 

    Generally speaking, if the height of the electrolyte level is 10mm higher than the plate, it means that there is no need to add liquid. If the electrolyte level has not been below the plate, distilled water or deionized water should be added. If the distilled water is added too much, the electrolyte will overflow, which will corrode the battery box and cables, which will affect the service life of the battery.

 

    The frequency of refilling depends on the purpose and operating temperature of the battery. Generally, the longer the battery is used, the more frequent the refilling frequency. Before adding liquid, remove the vent cap to fully charge the battery. If the battery plate has been exposed to the liquid surface, add water to just immerse the plate before charging, and then charge and add distilled water. After adding liquid, reinstall the breather cap on the battery.
